Picturing your goals, as if they are happening in the present moment, is powerful.
Almost all of us have the ability to create pictures in our mind. There is a small percentage of people who can’t visualize. They have aphantasia – they are image free thinkers. For the rest of us
… visualization is an underused tool for success.
Athletes have used the power of visualization for performance enhancement for a long time. Here’s Michael Phelps talking about how he used mental rehearsal as part of his training routine.
The power of visualization works for non-physical goals as well. Before any big meeting or speaking engagement I always spend time imagining how I want things to go. How I want to feel, how I want others to feel, and what result I’d love to see.
Using a prosperity picture can be very helpful in this process.
A prosperity picture is a visual representation of what you’d like to have happen in the future.
These are powerful. I’ve walked people from around the globe through this process – from one of the wealthiest men in Europe and his teenaged son, to university students in a rural community in Ghana – with great results.
I’m recently back from Senchi Ferry, Ghana. It’s been 4 years since I was last there. I had several of the university students tell me that many of the goals they had put on their prosperity pictures four years ago had come to fruition and they were excited to update their pictures.
