Lately I’ve been exploring what creates the conditions for magic to show up in our lives. Specifically, unexpected, wonderful business opportunities.
There are times in my career that amazing clients and totally cool projects have shown up for me that I couldn’t have possibly, deliberately gone after. Mostly because I didn’t even realize they were out there.
Here’s an example. Several years back I was contacted by the assistant of an extremely wealthy business owner from Europe to create a personalized learning experience for his son. He was coming to the US (he felt the personal finance education was much better here than in Europe) with the intention of helping his son go off to university with the right tools. My part in this was to help with vision, values, and mindset.
We spent an amazing day together. Created prosperity pictures, did a purpose activity, talked about money values, etc. He and his son were awesome. They both seemed to get lots of clarity from the day. I had a blast.
There is no way I could have found this family, approached them about this type of program, and deliberately created this day. Mostly because I didn’t even know this was a “thing” before we did it!
I’m curiously exploring this. I have some ideas of how we create the conditions for this type of magic.
- Clarity on our “why” in business
- A generosity focus to serve others with our work
- Being findable
- Spending time outside of work focusing on other interests
- Letting go of expectations
Amy S. (a super successful attorney and entrepreneur) shared with me:
“I think that opportunities come when I have more downtime or flexibility in my schedule.”
I’ll be doing more writing about this, and I’d love to hear what you think creates these conditions. Please let me know what you think.
Every good wish,
