I’ve been thinking about the distinction between the Science of Money and the Art of Prosperity lately. (Thank you Matt Church founder of the Thought Leaders Business School for inspiring me to contemplate this…)
The Science of Money is all about being smart and savvy with your money. Saving well, investing wisely, growing your money all live here. Important, clearly. The financial services industry focuses almost exclusively on this. The science of money is what most people think about when it comes to being financially successful.
I contend that The Art of Prosperity is equally important and doesn’t get enough attention.
When you’re only working in the science of money realm, you’re quite possibly…
- Abusing not using your money well
- Fearing not having enough versus sharing your wealth
- Judging not appreciating others with respect to money
- Arguing not loving in your money conversations with your partner
The art of prosperity embraces the definition of prosperity: The condition of success or thriving.
If you want to have a happier, healthier relationship with your money both domains are important.
The science of money will help you accumulate more. The Art of Prosperity will help you use what you accumulate as a force for good in your life and in the world significantly growing your impact.
Which area do you need to spend more time and attention on?
