Toss Your Budget! This Works So Much Better.
Budgets don’t work and I think they are a really bad idea. In over 20 years as a financial advisor I haven’t seen many people stick to a budget. Here’s a way to look at your expenses and see what’s flowing in and flowing out. And it opens up the way to think about whether your spending reflects the things you value. Doesn’t that sound more empowering than a budget?
This really is perfect. I used to have
a problem sticking with my budget plans but now I’ve found the antidote.
Thanks Ellen.
Ellen, I LOVE this. It’s so logical and sounds so much more enjoyable. How do you reconcile when you and your spouse differ on if it’s an A or a C if you each really value an A but it’s not an A for your partner and vice versa? Thanks!

Ohhh, that is a good question. It’s not unlike other negotiations in a marriage. The good thing is to start the conversation and to work toward a shared future vision.
Great piece! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mustapha!
